Gallery - Salon Studios & Health Clinics - is a rapidly expanding beauty company that offers a business-in-a-box solution to boutique salons & health clinics: with 5 locations across 3 cities in The Netherlands.

Gaudí real estate & brand positioning is involved in growing the Gallery network, sourcing and negotiating new locations, including future growth into new markets.


 

Emma - The Sleep Company.

(2022 - present)

With Emma taking their first steps ‘from online to offline’ late 2022, I was happy to consult and be part of the successful search and opening of their first physical retail location, open in the Westfield Mall of the Netherlands.

Following this successful pilot, the partnership is strengthened further with a Pan-European scope of expansion, guiding and supporting the European growth and rollout of Emma retail stores, focused on physical presence in 6 countries, and a multitude of target cities.


 

infinitSpace.

(2023 - Ambassador deal)

Having been a brand ambassador for infinitSpace for some time now, and as a firm believer in this innovative service and fresh way of working for office landlords, we eagerly await and support their future growth and projects.

On Monday 4 September I was delighted to join infinitSpace at the launch of their first Netherlands-based flexible workspace location! Kicking off their presence in the Amsterdam area in partnership with Marathon Asset Management, beyond Zuidtoren opened its doors in Hoofddorp, under infinitSpace’s in-house ‘beyond’ brand.

This followed a fruitful period of collaboration, during which time Gaudí real estate & brand positioning has proudly facilitated a number of connections to get the project off the ground.


 

VanMoof.

(2021 - 2023)

Founded in 2009 by two Dutch brothers; VanMoof’s sleek, multi-award winning bikes have changed cities and lead the current wave of people choosing e-bikes, where they offered a high-tech and feature-rich experience for a devoted worldwide community of almost 200,000 riders.

It feels like a Dutch pride for me that I have performed strategic real estate portfolio management for VanMoof globally. Having worked on expansion, extension, relocation, and break-/end date (re)negotiations in prime cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, London, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Seattle, and Tokyo.

(2022 - Broker deal)

A lot can happen in a year..

October 2021 I brought parties together during PROVADA, the largest real estate fair in the Netherlands, which led to a signed lease acquisition March 2022, and redevelopment / refurbishment of a boutique hotel happening over the summer.

At the start of September 2022, the first limehome in Amsterdam opened its doors and welcomed their first guests.


 

Getir.

(2021)

Getir - as the world’s first mobile retailer delivering everyday items in 10 minutes - set a very high ambition for their European (real estate) expansion and brand growth.

After their launch in London in January 2021, Amsterdam, Berlin and Paris shortly followed during Q2 2021.

At Getir I succesfully led and pushed their growth from 0 towards 30 locations in 10 cities in the Netherlands, in just over 7 months, undoubtedly becoming the Dutch market leader.

Client’s choices for Charity.

Following the brand promise of Gaudí real estate & brand positioning, Getir was happy to join in and help a good cause. With their choice to make as first client, Getir chose to support Oxfam Novib through signing Gaudí real estate & brand positioning.

VanMoof followed the same path, but spreading the support equally between Oxfam Novib and ForestWise, as did my Emma - The Sleep Company.

And lastly, limehome chose to fully support ForestWise through our collaboration.


Earlier experience.

 

citizenM.

For citizenM I focused on the European roll-out, which meant sourcing (re)development sites for acquisition, in prime European cities. Nearly bi-weekly I was either in Munich, Hamburg or Berlin for the roll-out in Germany - where I structured a partnership with Germany’s largest hotel developer - or in the city of London, further expanding the existing portfolio and network.

My responsibilities as Senior Development and Investment Manager Europe:

  • Brand development, strategy and expansion

  • Investment management

  • Investor and brand representation

  • Sourcing and real estate roll-out

I had the pleasure of working with Maurits at citizenM. Maurits’ responsibilities included creating and maintaining a network in multiple target cities, analyzing feasibility of hotel development investment opportunities and negotiating transactions.

His vast knowledge of real estate investment, and understanding of real estate industry made him very suitable for his role.

For well over six years I gained commercial real estate experience as investment broker at two leading advisory firms in the Netherlands:

  1. BNP Paribas Real Estate

  2. DTZ Zadelhoff (now Cushman & Wakefield)

Advising and consulting (inter)national real estate investors in the Dutch market - in both single and portfolio transactions, on either buyer’s or seller’s side - meant a wide array of services to provide (e.g. advisory, brokerage, investment management, investor representation).
